MEET THE MAKERS
VitreluxE - bobine glass LAMPS
For over two decades, Lynn Everett Read has transformed glass into a captivating art form, renowned for its austere style and craftsmanship. Born in Oceanside, California, in 1970, he became self-reliant after losing his father at a young age.
Despite early struggles in school, he benefitted from mentorship in arts programs that exposed him to various materials, leading to a BFA in sculptural studies from the Maryland Institute College of Art and an internship in glassblowing.
Lynn's passion for glass has flourished through residencies at Autonoma in Murano, Italy, Pilchuck Glass School, and Haystack School of Crafts. His work is featured in museum collections and design publications, and he has served on the board of the Glass Art Society, and has taught nationally.
His inventive approach focuses on handmade glassware that embodies quality and spartan design. Collaborating with figures like Eva Zeisel, Jim Hodges, Serena Williams, Keith Edmier, Urs Fisher, Deborah Horrell, West Elm, and Natural Selection. Lynn’s glass balances adornment, function, and form, favoring an understated aesthetic with depth and well considered details. Passionate about process and education, he is grateful to be able to work as an artist.
